Power Beaming Challenge update
Update 6:10 pm ET: LaserMotive made one run to the top (1km). No official number, though someone on chat said 4m/s I believe 5m/s is the target speed.
Laser motive is currently doing another climb.
Update 6:11 pm ET: On the webcast comes the news that LaserMotive qualified for the the $900k prize on their first climb. Climb time was just over 4 minutes.
Update 6:12 pm ET: Second climb also makes it up to the 1km stop. Little over 4 minutes.
Congratulations to Jordin Kare and the LaserMotive team!!
Update 6:22pm ET: The prizes go as follows. A climber must reach a vertical distance of 1 km. If it gets there at a speed over 2 m/s, the team wins $900k. A speed over 5 m/s wins $1.1M.
