The Space Review and the Space Show this week

The new issue of The Space Review includes a report from Eric R. Hedman on the WK2 and other space related activities at Oshkosh: WhiteKnightTwo at AirVenture 2009. See also the WK2 Photo Gallery.

In A place for China’s mat in space, Jeff Foust discusses a recent monograph on the development of the Chinese space program. In Elements of a 21st century space policy, Peter Garretson lays out a broad revamping of US space policy and its implementation.

Taylor Dinerman reviews the book, The Development of Outer Space: Sovereignty and Property Rights in International Space Law by Thomas Gangale. And Jeff Foust reviews the book, Space Tethers and Space Elevators by Michel van Pelt.

The schedule for The Space Show this week begins today with Eric Davis and Marc Millis discussing their book, Frontiers of Propulsion Science. On Tuesday, Lt. Leonard Johnson will talk about his student rocket team in the Team America Rocket Challenge and how rocketry can be used in STEM education. On Wednesday morning, David will talk with ESA's Bernard Foing, who was director of the SMART 1 lunar orbiter project. On Wednesday afternoon, Eric Daniels and Margaret Lau of the California Space Authority will talk about their new program with the French Aerospace Valley Association. On Thursday, Mark Hempsell of Reaction Engines Co. will talk about his company's innovative rocket propulsion technology.

There will not be any shows on Friday or Sunday this week.
