Soap Bubble Nebula discovered by amateur astronomers

The Soap Bubble Nebula, mentioned in the previous item, was actually first seen by amateur astronomer Dave Jurasevich on July 6th, 2008 and first noted and reported by amateur observers Keith Quattrocchi and Mel Helm on July 17th:

Gotta be a fake. No perfect transparent sphere like that could exist.

Hi Dick,
It is quite real. The nebula has now been seen by multiple telescopes. The transparency comes from the fact a wave of matter moving outward from an exploding star would have very low density.
